MY WHY
Why I Became a Financial Advisor
Who invites the copier guy to a label launch? I discovered I had a passion for building long-term relationships in an unusual place — selling color copiers when I worked for Canon after graduating college. One of my clients at the time, Motown Records, invited me to the launch party of its new jazz label. After that event, I realized I could combine my desire to build and nurture long-term client relationships with my interest in personal financial planning. In 1993, I began my journey as a financial planner. Today, my biggest source of joy comes from reflecting on the impact I have been able to make on the lives of clients, many of whom I have been working with for more than 20 years.
Being a trusted advisor means investors seek financial guidance about more than just their investment portfolio.
